Sounds like recent virus, can't recall which. If you can boot into Safe Mode,
you can invoke your AV software, but I would get the current update
immediately, if I were you, then clean your system. This _should_ work, but
recent posts have indicated that it sometimes fails. You may have to pay for
AV update, but it's well worth it.

Actually when i kept getting the blue screen is was from
a CDRW driver software that was outdated so i had to use
the last known good.... If the virus scan software
doesn't work, are there any other alternatives that I can
use to correct this problem?

???? If the outdated driver worked before, it wasn't the problem, it was
installing the new one - it seems that even if you uninstall the old one, you
may get a mess. I forget the 'orrible details, been a while since I read
about this issue.

You can always try a Repair (from Safe Mode, if you can boot to it.) AFAIK,
it won't hurt, and often works.

If that doesn't work, you need more specific help, and more details about
your system is required -- and that's the point at which my knowledge turns
into ignorance, so a repost with the details would be a good idea --eg,
recent updates, recent software changes, etc.
