Rebooting cycling

I didn't know this was the well-known problem. But now I
do.

I installed a new disk in my Amari computer and
reinstalled my operating system, Windows 2000
Professional, with no problems. I then downloaded and
installed Service Pack 4. I now have the recycling
problem when I boot.

I get as far as entering my logging on password, or
slightly further then get one of several messages:

Win "x" has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program. Where "x"
is WinMgmt.exe, svchost.exe or winlogon.exe.
Error loading NvQTwk.

The rebooting then commences. After three cycles the
system boot fully. By this time my blood pressure is
reminding me that I am an Old Age Pensioner.

I have two questions.

1 Do computers suffer from Altzheimers?
2 Do Microsoft ever give support that they don't charge
for?

Oh! and a third, can anyone else help?

NvQTwk looks like your Nvidia drivers.

If you restart into safe mode you may be able to update your display driver.

Regarding question one: Yes, periodically I've encountered computers that
exhibit Alzheimers-like symptoms including memory lapses and confusion.

Question two: Microsoft offers a variety of support options:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=cntactms&style=home

There are Professional level support options for Windows 2000 Professional
at the following link.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;Prodoffer20a&sd=GN

According to that website, your Windows 2000 Professional comes with two
incidents at no charge. An online Chat Support currently is at $29.95,
online Email Support is at $99 and Phone Support (per incident) is $245.

Third, the symptoms you've experienced may indicate presense of malware of
virus activities -- make sure MS03-039 is installed for RPC vunerability.

Good luck,
