25MB/s. The 480Mb/s ( = 60MB/s) figure is pretty theoretic.
Handshaking and other things typically bring it down to
around 25MB/s.

This is more or less correct.

It's starting to see like USB2 has been around a long time, it's time
for a faster USB3. Seems like it should at least match gigabit ethernet.
No idea.

Not as versatile as USB, but fast enough for disk transfers.

but that obviously didn't hold you back. Why so shy now.

Hi Folkert, what about expressions in "pure" english?
What ist "babblebot" and what ist "shy now"?

Previously John Turco said:Hello, Horst:
Well, "babblebot" is a "portmanteau" of the English words, "babble" and
"robot." Folkert Rienstra often uses it, to publicly mock Arno Wagner,
whom he apparently thinks prattles with machine-like regularity. <g>
As for the meaning of "shy now," Folkert was simply wondering why Arno
missed such a prime opportunity, to blather even further. ;-)
Hehe.
The thing Folkers still does not understand is that I do not read his postings.
He seems to be pretty obsessive about answering most of mine.
Not that he has anything of value to say...
And the insult is stolen.
I think
I was the first here to accues somebody of the trolls as being a bot.
Not surprising that Folkert does not have the creativity to come up
with his own insults,
but it amuses me any time I see it that (when people quote him, obviously)
he actually stole from me to insult me.

Doesn't for a moment contemplate that I might actually use my own name
for the sole purpose of him *not* reading my messages so that it
appears
to everyone else as if he agrees with me, by not coming back.
That's rubbish! That I *not* use my own name to provoke him in saying even more stupid
things which apparently he tries to avoid by killfiling those that he
fears.
