Hello,

Anyone care to explain why RealVNC is listed under Spyware?
I would like to ask MS to classify its shitty "Remote Assistance" as spyware
then as well.

We use RealVNC as our main support tool worldwide and are rather happy with
it.
I’d still would like to use the coming MS Anti Spyware though, rather then
McAfee for instance.

Because realvnc can be installed and active without notice to the user of
the machine. This is not true of Remote Access or Remote Desktop. It is
also not true of standard distributions of WinVNC, but that's my
understanding.

It is important for the user of a given machine to be aware of the existence
of remote control tools which can be used without notice to them.

In a situation where such tools are a standard feature in a corporate lan--I
use them too!--a corporate version of Microsoft Antispyware--as implemented
in Microsoft Client Protection, for example--will likely allow for group
policy controls that will not call them out to the individual users.
Microsoft Antispyware is a beta product designed for home users, not
corporate networks where group policy is involved.
