Hi all. I have installed Vista RC1 on a HP m7160n media center pc and I have
no sounds at all. I have tried updating drivers, and rolling back drivers. I
have tried downloading xp drivers from the HP website, and nothing has worked
so far. Any ideas out there?

Hi,
I use the Vista Beta driver for Realtek High-Definition Audio, from this
link, running on Vista RC1:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...s=2004061&Software=True&title=HD Audio CODECs

It seems to work fine except for the Realtek HD Audio Sound Effect Manager,
which Windows' Program Compatibility Assistant crabs at you about when the
program is initialized at start-up. Use System Configuration (msconfig.exe),
on the program's Startup tab, to disable RTHDCPL.EXE. The other Realtek
Startup items can be left alone.

Hope this helps,
Dean-Dean
