I'm having problems trying to get my onboard realtek ALC882M audio from my
asus p5ld2 to work at all. I upgrade from windows xp to the vista beta.
Sound was working before the upgrade. Anyone had any similar problems? Is
there a compatible driver somewhere? I checked the asus and realtek sites
and couldn't find anything. Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Cheers

MM

I have similar mobo with onboard realtek sound. Installed the vista beta HD
drivers from realtek. They set digital output as default when installed. If
you have analog output you may need to go into the sound properties and set
to analog output.

A little bit off topic... I have a P5LD2 motherboard but I can't get Vista
to install because I don't have the driver for the IT8211 SATA controller.
How did you get it to install? Are there compatible drivers available?

I have the P5LD2 and I cannot get the Realtek HD audio to work either.... I
have tried various drivers, installing in XP compatible mode etc... nothing
has worked yet.

download beta driver from Realtek and install it
1. Start
2. control panel
3. audio devices and sound themes
4. double clixk on Realtek
5. select Properties
6. unselect Realtek Digital output
7. apply
8. listen to the music

hope it works for you

If that is the chipset SATA ports you should be able to emulate PATA..or you
should have the drivers...

Thanks for the response. I did an "upgrade" install and got it to work
(except for the sound).
