REALTECK SOUND DRIVER FOUND!!

Thanks for the Info, everyone needs all the help they can get. I'm glad you
got your to work though. And everyone thought they hp was going to release
the driver in a few weeks and I just got a personal email saying that they
won't release it to the final version of vista comes out.

I think alot of companies will wait until Vista is released proper.
 
well dale is my personal friend and i was there when he got that e-mail and
even though it would be too late they said they were most definatly waiting
till the final version was realeased. So those still without sound you may be
waiting a while before you have sound once again. sorry.....
 
You have tried running Windows Update haven't you?
I have a Realtek sound chip on my nForce 4 board and the
driver was delivered to me and installed by Windows Update.

The windows update driver does not work for me. Well it works, but
everytime I open a program a dialogue box pops up to say it is not
compatible with Vista. The same problem for the driver in the original
post. I had to install the XP drivers to get rid of the message.
 
It has in previous builds. There must be an issue this time causing it not
to be included in the driver store on WU.
