Today, I had someone that I built a computer for a few weeks ago call me.
"I try to boot my computer and all I get is a INSERT SYSTEM DISK error".
Ok, maybe his HD died. This has never happened to me, but there is a first
time. So he brings it in. I try to start it and get the same message. I
check and there is no floppy in the drive, so I put in an old Win98 disk and
the thing boots to the recovery disk screen. I check the HD directory, and
all is there. Pull the disk, restart, and get the same error message. Now
I'm thinking the board's cooked. Just then I looked at the card reader I
installed on the front of the case. Everything worked ok after I removed
the compact flash card from the card reader. Sometimes the simplest things
get us.....glad I don't build for a living!
