really stuck! overlapping windows!

Hope fully someone can help when i go on the net and try
to open up more than one window for some reason my
computer overlaps the new window opened onto the old one.
Therefore i cant do any multi-tasks and i loose my
initial searchs!
I think it must be an option in a set up somewhere but am
really lost! Very grateful for any help!

Try holding down Alt key and pressing Tab key to sort through them. Also
can switch windows with a click on desired one on Taskbar.
