Real time protection will not stay enabled

I've tried enabling it from the taskbar, as well as from
within the program. As soon as I close the program out
and go back into it, it shows the security agents as
disabled. How can I get them to stay enabled? Is it
possible there is a virus or some sort of spyware that is
keeping them disabled?
 
Try these two solutions:

1) do an update install--control panel, add or remove
programs, Microsoft Antispyware, change, update.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without
the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any
downside risk--and see if that does the job. Let us know
whether it does, or not!

When you setup your settings maybe you have to insist 2 o
3 times, in order to stick the command.

Try and let's know.

After checking some older posts I found the following:

Fix MSAS:

Try first:

Click on Start\Control Panel\Add or Remove
Programs\Microsoft AntiSpyware. Click on
Change\Next\Update Microsoft AntiSpyware. Follow
instructions on screen.

Try next:

Click on Start\Control Panel\Add or Remove
Programs\Microsoft AntiSpyware. Click on "Click Here for
Support Information"\Repair. Follow instructions on
screen.

No luck? Try:

Click on Start\Control Panel\Add or Remove
Programs\Microsoft AntiSpyware. Click on Remove. Be sure
to remove all folders/files at C:\Program Files\Microsoft
AntiSpyware.

I have the same problem. I recently obtained Spyware
received from a link disguised as sent by someone on my
Buddy List. Now my Real-Time protection will not work.
I have tried all the solutions people have suggested on
this board. I have attempted to repair and
uninstall/reinstall MSAS numerous times. I used
CCCleaner, MSAS, McAfee Virusscan, to try to see if a
virus is stopping me from using real-time protection. I
can't figure this out!
