When trying to install third party software I noticed it
was taking a *REALLY* long time. The progress bar was
barely moving. I think I waited about 15 minutes and was
about 50%. I shut down the spyware real time protection
and instantly the speed of installation increased to
normal. Apparently the real time protection was
monitoring the installation causing slowness

What program did you install ?

I Was helping a friend set up a new computer. I
installed several applications, all really slow. When I
realized what was happening, I was installing Nero Ultra
Edition. It took 15-20 minutes to get about 50%
installed. After I shutdown Antispyware, It finished in
about 5 minutes or so.

I've seen something along these lines posted several times through the beta.
It may be an incompatibility with a specific third-party installer version.

Thanks for the post.

Bill,
As in the 'old days' I still shutdown my AV and MWAS when installing a large
program.
