I remember using either a freeware program or a URL to check your speed to
the internet. As I remember, alot otf urls flashed on the screen like
yahoo.uk then many others that kept constant url update and then showed a
"real time" connection speed. Does anyone know what I'm referring to?
Thanks

I prefer a program like this to web-based speed tests.

This little speed meter runs in the tray, and shows a graph of your speed
while downloading large files or just browsing the web. Over a few days of
use, you get a feel for what your ISP is capable of doing. Although my ISP
has 2mbps of bandwidth, I seldom get the whole enchilada. Most sites D/L at
well under 1mbps. The web-based sites can paint a rosy picture. This meter
tells you the whole story.
