I have downloaded many different virus scan and cleaning software from
the net, however, these products cannot clean the above virus in my
computer.

For the last few months, there is a computer virus hide itself under
the name of SCVHOST.exe, it will freeze my broadband connection after
a few mins of internet surfing. If I try to end this program by using
control-alt-delete, it will convert to a 60-sec automatic shutdown
countdown.

I have searched thru' the entire internet and there is no effective
solution at all since 2003 (although there were many advices but not
too useful), appreciate any expert out there to provide me any real
solution to get rid of this nightmare...

Regards
Taylor

If you have SCVHOST.exe and this is not a typo, delete it. It is not an XP
file.

The real XP file is svchost.exe. See the difference?

scvhost.exe is a process which is registered as the W32/Agobot-S virus. This
Trojan allows attackers to access your computer, stealing passwords and
personal data.

Make sure that your anti virus software is up to date and run a full system
scan.

In addition to this good answer from Mr. Vogel, I gave you an extensive
answer in microsoft.public.security.virus where you also posted.

Hi Malke,

Mr. Vogel is my Dad. I'm Wes. ;-)

What my Dad knows about computers can be written inside a matchbook with a
grease pencil.

I know a little more than that. <LOL>
