Where to begin...
I have a simple network. No broadband connection. A
laptop running WinXP SP-1 and a Desktop running the same
version. The laptop runs without a care, but the desktop
machine is giving me fits. Such as if my network cable
is plugged in to my switch it will take forever to log on
after a restart or turning the machine on. Then some of
my tray icons do not appear... such as Getright, and the
volume control for my Audigy 2. If I log off and log
back on the icons all appear and boots like it's supposed
to. Plus when I DO get the network working... when I try
to access a shared folder on the other machine it'll seem
like it has hung and will eventually bring up the files.
The workaround I have so far is to let it hang and
reaccess it again and it'll work fine. It seems to be a
problem with the desktop because the laptop can connect
to any network.
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks in advance.
