You probably have display of common file type extensions turned off in
Explorer. For reference that's under (Tools > Folder Options > VIew
[tab] > [ ] Hide extensions for known file types.
Your earlier post, slightly out of this thread, said
"when i do it it says" file type:real audio/real video"
This implies your files are probably of type .ra, .rm or similar. These
are files in Real Network's own formats.
To convert them to another format, you can either
a) use Real Player to burn them to an audio CD, then using Windows Media
Player or another program, RIP the files back as MP3; or
b) use a conversion program like dbPowerAmp. You'll have to download
codecs to handle Real Audio formats:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ra.htm
Either of these two steps will inevitably result in a loss of quality
from the original. I suspect from the thread so far that you may need a
bit of technical hand-holding to get through either of these tasks
(particularly option b).
