Readyboot pen drives - MS validated

I'm looking at the Readyboost function within Vista, whereby the OS can make
use of a flash drive/pen drive to boost certain read/write functions within
Vista.

Some suppliers advertise branded pen drives as being Validated by
Microsoft - what does this 'validation' entail? Does it mandate a minimum
read/write speed? Is there any real advantage to using one with Vista over
and above a high quality, branded pen drive that doesn't boast 'Validated by
Microsoft'?

Thanks,

Bren
