I bought a USB 2Gb flash drive (PC LINE) specifically to utilise the
ReadyBoost feature. On installation I am told that this drive is not
suitable for RB purposes. Can anyone give me some guidance as to which flash
drives are suitable?

Brendan, try going into Device Manager, locating your USB
flash drive under "Disk Drives", then open up the "Properties"
of the drive, then click the "Policies" tab. Select "Optimize for Performance".

You can also try using another USB slot. If it is plugged into
a USB hub, take it out and plug it directly into the computer.

Kingston Data Traveler 1GB works for me on Vista.

Thanks Michael. I think that both of your recommendations are important. I
tried the switching usb slots first- nothing. Then I configured, as you
described, in Device Manager. It worked! As an experiment I switched back to
the original usb slot - no go. On reverting back all was, and remains well.
