I got 2 x 2GB pen drives for free yesterday (thanks to a free £10 voucher from Staples!), and they are fast enough to use as a Readyboost Drive.

I've had it in for about 24 hours now, but I've not noticed any difference at all. I didn't expect much, but I thought I might notice something

Has anyone here noticed any difference from using this? I saw Mucks had an old post here about it, and seemed to see a difference. :thumb:

I've got a 4 GB SanDisk Cruzer which I tried out for a few weeks last year. Truth to tell, I didn't notice any difference at all. :)

Well, I won't swear to it but ... I have been doing a lot of 'work' with pictures, especially from a Canon EOS 400/40 and the RAW files it produces ... I do find the little light on the 'Cruzer' drive flashing like mad as I access these files. They are big buggers. :D

My deduction may not be that scientific, but it does look like it's doing something.

According to my reading from around the net, Readyboost will 'kick-in' in low memory situations ... however, it is basically an "aid" to your hard drive cache. ;)

I'm installing Vista Ultimate 64bit on one of my machines shortly so I'll be able to try Readyboost eventually.........you may also see a few posts later screaming for help :D

Lol, To be honest I didn't notice any difference (I used 1 1Gb SanDisk) must be one of those useless features in Vista lol
