Ready Boost with memory cards?

I'm getting an hp laptop with a 5-in-1 digital media card reader. Is there
any cards that I can put is there that will do ready boost? Would it be
practical to just put in a memory card when I first get the laptop, make it
completely dedicated to ready boost, and leave it there forever? What memory
cards work with ready boost and how would I find the speed? Thanks.

I have a new HP laptop and a SanDisk 2GB SD Ultra II works fine when
formatted in Fat32 with ReadyBoost. I just leave it there all the time.

JW, how much RAM do you have, and how helpful do you think the SD card is?
Are all SanDisk SD cards able to ready boost or how would I know? Did you
have to format it? Thanks.

I have 1GB of Ram.
Not all cards are fast enough.
The Ultra II passed the speed test when used with the built in card reader.
It might not work with an external card reader.
Since it is just a fast cache to Virtual memory it only helps with
applications that have had their code or data put in to virtual memory to
allow other applications or data to be used.
Normally it has no effect on my laptop but I can see the effect when running
Flight Simulator.
