Ready Boost is a Windows Vista feature. It is not available in Windows
XP. However, it is not a good solution to adding system RAM. Buy more
RAM to put into your host rather than attempt to use the slower USB
flash drive.
there is a third party software maker
that has created a version of ready
boost for winxp.
but the problem you have will not be
solved by a ready boost system.
you need to have somewhere between
500 megs and 1.5 gigs of ram to give
your system the freedom to do its
job.
at this time 256 is a meagor amount
and system performance is inhibited,
as you may have come to realize.
so my suggestion is that instead of
spending money on ready boost,
but "more" ram and maybe add a
video card as well.
