just an observation from reading forum, are we not to read
the forum before we just ask questions due to the fact
that alot of people appear to be asking the same
questions, but we as(questionaire?) are not reading the
forum. Alot is to learned about powerpoint if we read
from other peoples questions. Just an observation.

Thank you, John. Yes, lots of information is shared here each day, and you
can actually access the past years of posts by using the very powerful
advanced search functions at
http://www.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en. It's much faster to
search for the answer with google than it is to post your question and wait
for a response. On the other hand, newsgroups and communities are new to
many people and if they don't look and find the answer to their question, we
always try to treat each question as if it's the first time we've heard it.

And you're absolutely correct in noting that so much can be learned just by
reading the other questions and solutions. In fact, I would contend that
hanging out here is better than any class you can pay for.

It would be interesting to know the percentage of answers found by doing a
Google Groups search prior to posting. I think I find my answers about 95%
of the time by searching the groups. The other 5% I post and are usually
because I am trying to use a hammer as a wrench and there isn't an answer.
I did find that you can use a wrench as a hammer though. <g>
