I have an ATI Radeon Mobilty X300 64MB dedicated video card which is
compatible with WDDM. The windows vista perforamce rating area says that my
video card has only 32MB memory, and therefore will not allow me to enable
aero glass even at a 1024x768 resolution. Windows XP did recognize the card
as 64MB. How can i fix this?

Are you using the ATI drivers direct from ATI? Or is it one of the video
cards that have the Hyper Memory with 32MB onboard for the video, and it has
access to another 32MB of system RAM?

Yes, i am using the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista Beta driver directly from ATI.
No, it is not a hyper memory card, just a standard card. The card does not
use shared memory. See below for full specs.

I would guess it is a 64MB of Hypermemory. That means "this card has 32MB,
but we'll claim 64mb by using 32mb of system ram"

Are you sure? I was under the impression that if not all, most of the X300
used Hypermemory.

I am using the same video card on my thinkpad. I installed the ATI vista
drivers and it is recognized appropriately as 64MB, and Aero Glass is running
great.
