Hi,

Are you familiar with the process of using a ruler or (I'm talking about
actual paper here, not a computer screen) if preferable using those rulers
with a colored transparent strip in them to mark the page you're reading or
proofing? As you move further in the document you mark the line your reading
with the ruler. Kinda like keeping a finger pressed below the last word
you've read. It makes it easy to proof against another copy when you must
move back and forth between pages without getting lost.

Does Word have a similar feature? Something that when clicked lights up a
line up top and then the arrow keys or something are used to scroll the
transparent bar line-by-line along the page. It'd sure make it easier to
mark you last spot read if that were available so I'm not word hunting when
my eyes return to the screen.

Not as such. You can select (highlight) a line by left-clicking in the
margin beside it.

Isn't there a command that will take you to the previous cursor position?

HTH,

Twayne

Yes, but in the example given in this thread, the insertion point may
already be at that point; it's the eye that needs to return to it.
