A friend burned some jpg files (pictures) on a CD-R for
me and mailed the CD to me. I cannot open the pictures on
my computer. Any suggestions?

I have an HP ze5155 laptop and the CD was burned on
another HP laptop although I don't know the model number
or any other info about the drive.

Can you read the CD at all? Did he make sure to finalise the disc? What
format are the pictures in?

If you have another (local) friend with a CD-RW drive and recording software,
try to read the CD in that drive.

Sounds like the disc was not finalized.

You can use the same software that created the disc to close it.
