reading an xml file

Hi just wondering if anyone knows if powerpoint can read an xml document?
What I would like to do is have a .net web application save data as an xml
file on a client machine and then have the client be able to open it with
powerpoint, not sure if this is possible though.

Yes and no.

Current versions, no.

PowerPoint 2007's native format will be a set of XML files inside a ZIP file,
though. In that sense it can read XML.

Any old XML file? No.
