I have this problem on my network where I keep getting read receipts from a
user (from the network) saying "Your message was deleted without being
read". I am getting these receipts everyday at around 4:00am consistently.
I have confirmed that the messages that the receipts are coming from are
being read, I just don't understand why I'm getting them. To add to that,
the client that I am getting the receipts from, is setup to not send read
receipts.

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Microsoft Outlook does not have to "open" a message tol allow you to read the message. Through the
Reading Pane, a user can read the message while it is still in an unread status. So when the message
is deleted, you will receive the receipt saying "Your message was deleted without being read."

The recepts you are receiving are from YOUR Outlook client being set up to receive receipts, not the
other user. His or her client is just responding to your request for read receipts.

William,

Thank you for the reply but I still have two issues. First, the messages
are not being deleted and the "Your message has been deleted without being
read" message is still being sent out. If fact, to add to that, the PC
isn't even on at 4:00am so I'm not sure why this is happening. Second, the
client PC is set to, and the confusion may have been in my wording of the
previous thread, not to respond to any messages requesting receipts.

Any other ideas that would provide insight to this strange occurance? I
have since done a full re-install of the office suite on the problemed
client so I should know tomorrow if it worked or not.

Thanks again,

Ian
