read only

Why any saved files on PP are read only. I have a file saved to a CD. Saved to HD and went to Explore to change the read-only check mark on properties and there is not a check mark and I can not still change anything on the file. Help!!
 
Is the presentation password protected?

When you save your files to CD, they are by default made Read Only. If you copy
them back from the CD to you HD, they retain the Read Only status.
