I'm having a problem with read only...

I'm creating a database at home (Office 2002) and have attempted to take it
to work and do some fine tuning, however it opens up in the READ ONLY
mode... I've copied the tables and forms to a "new" database file so I could
continue to work on the design, the problem is, when I save the .mdb file to
disk I get another READ ONLY message at home and have to re-create the
database... how can I stop this madness and turn off the READ ONLY during
the design stage of the database then turn it back on once I've got things
setup?

Using a CD to take the copy? They are always read only files. Copy
the data base to your PC and then right click on the file, go to
properties, and uncheck read only on the General tab.

Hi Ray,

Have you tried using Windows Explorer and right click on the .mdb
and go to properties and remove the "Read Only" attribute?
