In a limited user account, how do I change the "My
Documents" folder property from "read only"? I can
uncheck the box but it has no effect.

It's normal for folders to have that box checked. There's no need to change
it... it doesn't have an effect on folders. Are you having a problem
writing to that folder?

Hi OutOfYourMind:

If files don't have read only checked in file properties, or you dont
see (Read Only) in the title bar of an open document, you dont have
a problem.. the read only check in folder properties is by default...
and it has no efect on files...

Default Permissions for Shared Folders Is Read-Only Access for Everyone
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;328065&Product=winxp
(328065) - By default in Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), if you click
the Sharing tab of the Properties dialog box for the folder, and then share
the
folder for other users to access over the network, the folder has
permissions that give
everyone read-only...
