I backed up my files on a CD burner. I must have made an error in extracting
the disk because when I now want to recopy these files back into my C drive
the system tells me that that CD is a read only disk. I have tried
right-clicking on that disk followed with \properties where I can see the
attributes but when I have checked the archive box and unchecked the
read-only box and then "apply"-it still reverts to read only.I am running XP

Windows considers all CDs to be Read-Only (burning doesn't count). *After* you
copy the files back to your hard disk you can turn off the Read-Only attribute.

I thought that one of the many things I had tried was to copy the files to
the C: drive and I got the message that acess was denied- but I will try
again.
