Read-only message when importing Fixed Width file

I am trying to import a fixed width file with the
extension of .dsk. I get the error: Cannot update.
Database or object is read-only. If I rename the file
to .txt it works fine. How do I make Access reconize
the .dsk extension as a Fixed width text file?

shows how to change the extensions that Access will accept. The neatest
method is the last, editing the registry (provided you're careful<g>).

includes code that automatically makes a copy of the textfile with a
..txt extension and imports that.
