Hi,

Dose anyone know how to set up Read-only restriction at the form level in
access? That means if two people want to change the data in same table
through the form, only the first one can modify the data, the second one can
just view the data. Is this possible?

Thanks a lot!

Have you played with this? It basically works this way already. If you and
another user make a change, the first change should commit, but the second
user will get an error.

You can modify the lock settings in TOOLS/OPTIONS/ADVANCED if this reflex
is not what you want.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the quick reply. Actually the back-end database part with
tables is on the server side, the application part is on each PC. The
"default record locking" setting in TOOLS/OPTIONS/ADVANCED is "All Records"
for both back-end database and front-end application. The locking seems
totally not work when we tried to modify one record at the same time!! Why??

Thanks again!
