If you have an "uncompiled" database (typically, MDB not MDE, or ADP not
ADE) and necessary security permissions, you can change it any way you want.
If it is the database attributes that make it Read-Only, this applies.
If, on the other hand, you mean that the _file_ itself is flagged as
Read-Only, that happens often. When a file is transported via CD-ROM, it is
marked on the CD-ROM as Read-Only, and that status is carried along when it
is copied to the hard-drive. If that's the case, right-click, look at its
properties and clear the Read-Only property.
