read only docs

I am using word in Office 2000 Pro, I hae a user when he
saves a document, he always gets a message that the
document is read only. This happens even when he created
the document. For instance, he opens a new document,
types his name, goes to save, and it says this file is
read only.....

How can I fix this?

Emily,

It sounds a though the Normal template has been modified
to include a password. You can strip the password out of a
document by going to:

Tools | Options | Save: and remove passwords there.
