read only attributes in folder properties

Hi, I have a very inconvienient problem with the read only attributes in
folder properties. When I try to output files into the folder, I got an error
message that I can’t write file into the folder. I have to save everything on
the desktop first and then copy them to the proper folder. There is no way I
can uncheck the read only attributes because it keeps coming back. I tried
the step from this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326549
the command prompt does not recognize the attrib commands. This is very
frustrating. I googled my problem and found many other users also have the
same or similar problem.

The read-only attribute will always be on a folder if it has been
customized. It does NOT mean the same thing when applied to a file.

So just what application are you using to "output files" to the folder?
Sounds like it is using the read-only attribute incorrectly.

What does "does not recognize the attrib commands" mean? What happens
when you try to execute them in a DOS shell?
