Read Only Attributes canot be removed !!

I have certain files on one drive that refuse point blank to allow me to
move or copy them. If I change the file properties to allow an edit and
close the tab, when it is reopened it is read only again. Any help would be
appreciated very much. Using XP Pro with SP1 by the way.

Are you applying this to the directory (folder) or to the files
themselves? Ignore the directory. Select the file/s, right-click and
click PROPERTIES. Then UNcheck READ ONLY, and it should apply to all the
files that were selected.
