Read Mail or New Message button in Internet Explorer 6

When I click on it, even though Outlook 2003 is my
default, and it (Internet Explorer) is aware of this in
Internet options, it trys to run Outlook Express. Any
reason why?
 
With OE open, go to Tools > Options. Near the bottom of the General tab,
make sure the OE as the default email handler is grayed out.

In Outlook 2003, make the in the options that the it is set as the default
mail handler.

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
