Reactive table of contents page

I would like to arrange a table of contents slide showing the name of the
'chapter', along with the slide number for the first slide in that chapter,
but allow it to automatically change should the presentation be edited (if a
new slide is added, for example).

It needs to show the correct slide number so that if the show is also
printed, the 'book' will be accurately paginated.

If there is a solution, I would really like to know it.

Thanks!

Other than a custom-written add-in, I don't think it'd be possible to make this happen
automatically.

Do you do anything with VB/VBA?

I used to, but don't code any more. Seems like something that could be done.
An autotext that calls to a variable slide #, or a hyperlink that displays
the linked slide # in the textbox....

If PPT had autotext like Word does, it might be a great deal simpler. But it could be done
one way or another, I imagine.
Seems like a cool feature that could be helpful on larger projects with lots
of edits.. do you agree?

For projects that require a TOC, certainly. Something like the automatic TOC in Word. Very
handy feature.

Have a look here, though ... this might help:
