Been attempting to reactivate some Host files, only
opinion is to unblock Host. When I click this opinion,
nothing happens. Then receive error, Program not
responding,then click end program.
Any suggestions reg. how I would unblock these files?

Thanks
Don

There should be only one hosts file. It is a simple text file located in
%windowsroot%\system32\drivers\etc, and called "hosts."

You can edit it by hand with notepad. On most systems, it has only a single
entry for localhost.

If you want to recreate the initial file, there should be a hosts.sam
present in that same directory--copy that to "hosts", and you've got a brand
new empty hosts file.

If you have another antispyware program which filled in the hosts file with
entries for "bad" hosts, re-run that other program to restore those entries
to the new file.

I know this doesn't answer the question about why the UI for doing what you
want to do isn't working, but this is a way around that.
