Hai, anyone else getting machine crashes if they put RC1 into sleep mode??
When I put mine into sleep mode, front button does not flash on and off as it
should, frantic disc activity, video to monitor stops okay. Then when I try
to wake it up, I either get the @Windows has recovered from a near fatal
crash, or windows did not shut down properly, any one else getting this? I
don't remember having this problem in beta2 and pre-RC1. have sent a report
in of course.

I am having similar problems. I don't think they will be solved for unless
Asus comes out with a bios update for my motherboard. This is unlikely. They
haven't had an update for two years now. This board was top of the line
three years ago. It now appears to be abandoned by the company.

I am waiting for 6 months when boards certified for Vista will be released.

I can't remember though Richard if I experienced this before with previous
builds, as I can't remember if I tried to use the sleep mode in them. Anyway,
i daren't use it again. Looking back in previous posts, it seems that there
have been various problems with the sleep mode, though not the same one, in
previous builds, I understand that it has been altered to some degree in
Vista from how it works in Windows XP.
Anyway, thanks for your reply.

I remember that when Windows XP came out there were a lot of bios updates
made available for the newer boards, at that time. I fear my board no longer
qualifies as being in that group. <sigh>

I don't have this issue, but sometimes my USB mouse goes to sleep, and it
takes about a MINUTE before it'll start responding (I have a frozen arrow
until then).
