Re-Visit AV programs, please

I downloaded Avast free edition, and now its plaguing me with notices to
upgrade and the "trial period" has ended...not like AVG. When I peek at the
offer its bogus in re "trial" period. How does one stop these notices, or
should I go back to AVG? Thank you all.

That mean you got the Trail version Not the Free version Of Avast, try to
download the free version of Avast on your Desktop, then disconnect from the
Internet and Remove the Trail version of Avast from Add and Remove Programs
in control panel.
Run disk cleanup then try the installation of the Home version.

Wow, thank you. Maybe that is what I did download. I'm a blind user, and
depend on my Screen Reader program...sometimes we're not the best of
friends. ;-)) Thank you again.
 
appreciate this info truly...must say AVAST has a positive 'edge' over other
AVs.
 
That was simple...thank you... It was registered as Home Edition, but I had
not "seen" the link to register the number/code so it was easily done with a
right-click on my systray icon. Thank you so much.
