I have created a customized user profile on 1 pc. I need to be able to copy that profile to other PCs with different hardware. This would be much easier than re-creating the profile on each machine type I have (about 12).
I copy the profile over, but some settinge don't come with it, i.e details view in explorer, among other things. I know there are SIDs and registry entries involved.
Does anyone know how this can be done. I need precise, step by step instructions.
Thanks

There should be a hidden folder called "Default User" under Documents
and Settings. Copy your customized profile there and then copy the
Default User profile to the Default User profile on these 12 machines.
Any new users logging into these computers will get the new profile.
Make sure that the special group Everyone has permissions to use this
profile. Also, you may have to edit ntuser.dat in the root of Default
User for certain settings, such as setting wallpaper for all users.

HTH,
Adam
