I guess I'll use this one...but you have to drag every single url over there! Then it
works ok.
Someday when I have nothing to do...perhaps I'll drag them over. Right now I've only
tried
a few, which seem to work ok. The program I lost is still the best one! It TOOK all
those
url's from My Favorites in IE and automatically made a text webpage of them! Oh well,
it was great while it lasted. What was neat about it was it did the work
automatically,
and because it was text it was fast. I saw a non-free version that looks great...but
oh, well,
I'm staying with the freeware - and this site seems to be continually developing.

How about this one?
website: http://www.terriadev.com/urlbase/
download page: http://www.terriadev.com/urlbase/downloads/urlpers.html

URLBase 5 Personal Edition is built around the same core as the
Professional Edition but has a reduced set of features. Free for non-
commercial and personal use. URLBase 5 Personal Edition is only available
in English.
hope it helps...

I had major problems with this one a while back.. The
interface and functionality is good, but it crashed taking
with me a few months of bookmarks. If you use it then you
had better backup your bookmarks file on every use, and
export often..

Try this. Netscape stores its bookmarks in a webpage, and this will import
from IE/Opera and export to Netscape:

GUL 1.4 (312 kB)
http://www.belkaplan.de/opera/bookmarks.htm

--------------------------------

"Gul is a freeware tool.

It helps you to organize your bookmarks.
You can import/export bookmarks from Microsoft IE or Netscape or Opera
browsers. Very simple to use as it looks like Windows Explorer.

Features :
----------
Browser supported :
Netscape Communicator
Microsoft Internet Explorer
Opera

English, French, German translation.

You can edit bookmarks, create or delete bookmarks, create or delete
folders, drag bookmarks from one folder to another, drag bookmarks,
Copy/Paste, etc...

You can import/export Microsoft Favorites, NetScape Bookmarks, Opera
Hotlist.
Sort your bookmarks alphanumerically.

You can print Gul document with Microsft Word."

-----------------------------

--Win 95/98/NT (don't know if it works on XT)
--fast search.
--filters dupes when importing URLs.
--lets you add comments to URLs.
--lets you choose your launch browser. (even if it's not one of the
supported browsers, I believe)
--easy sorting
--no-install.

Damn shame development stopped quite some time ago. Does pretty much
everything I want, so I use it anyway.

If it works in Netscape, will it work in Firefox?

The page is in German. Do you have a direct downward link for it?

They both store their bookmarks in a file called bookmarks.html by default.
Hit file | import | Netscape Bookmarks..., and browse to it. Once imported,
you can easily drag and drop your bookmarks into folders. Then, if you
like, you can export back to bookmarks.html, overwriting the file; or name
it something else and put it where you like. Open the file from within
Firefox and there are your bookmarks, new folder structure retained. I
think you can set your bookmarks file as your homepage, too.

I don't bother sorting bookmarks as I obtain them. I just add them all to
one folder in Opera/IE, then every so often import them into Gul, sort them
there, and delete them in the browsers.

BTW, this message: "Änderungen in my main gul bookmarks.gul speichern?" is
just asking if you want to save your changes. No other German in the
English interface.

Ooops! I just copied and pasted without really looking what I pasted.

"my main gul bookmarks.gul" is the name of one of my two Gul files. Your
message would differ there.
