Hi
I refilled my magenta cart before I got the 'low ink' message
and now that the printer thinks the cart is empty
(even though it's not) I'm getting 'low ink replace cart' messages

Can someone tell me how to stop/remove these messages please

I tried
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

however, it didn't work -
I'm still getting 'low ink replace cart' messages

Thats good. Nobody is making ink even close to the new chromalife 100
that your printer was designed to use. Get rid of your problem for
about $12.00 by installing a genuine Canon ink cart.

You will lower your risk of a clogged head
You will lower your risk of rapid fading
You will get much better quality.

Yes

1. Get Canon carts
2. Open the lid and remove the bad cart
3. Replace with genuine Canon ink cart
4. Perform an alignment if necessary

The procedure you completed is to reset the waste ink counter, it has nothing
to do with resetting the cartridges.
There is no reset procedure for the 4200 carts.
There is a work around however. If you are getting "Low Ink" messages, wait
until you get "Out of Ink" message and then when prompted tell the printer to
carry on with a non Canon cartridge. I cannot recall the details having never
done this but someone here may be able to help.
