Well, we're back to square one, entered info as directed (what I thought was
correct to begin with) and still get the same request for U.Name and P.Word.
cancel that and I get:
Account: 'postoffice.worldnet.att.net (3)', Server:
'postoffice.worldnet.att.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR login
failed', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number:
0x800CCC92
Att Worldnet is going to end service on March 15 2010, could it be that they
are stopping new account set-ups because of this? I wanted to set it up so
as to roll all accounts into new service at that time.
Sorry, I didn't know you had a dial-up connection. The settings for
the dial-up service are different:
Incoming server (POP3): postoffice.att.net
Outgoing server (SMTP): mailhost.att.net
Ports: 25 (outgoing), 110 (incoming)
No SSL.
What I suggest you do instead of just changing the settings:
Delete the account, restart Windows Mail, recreate the account, using
the above settings. The account may be corrupted.
