Re Power Point 2003

I am using pp v 2003.
I want to create a presentation with a pp template on the first and last
slide only.
When I try this I end up with all the slides having that same templated.
If this can be done could someone please tell me how I do this?

Liz,
Just select both slides, in the slide design task pane, right-click the
template and choose Apply to selected slides, or click the listarrow next to
the design and choose the same.
