Re Outlook and mail rules - Spam filter

Hi all

I am running XP (Home) and Outlook as mailer on my laptop. I have message
rules set up to delete messages with certain words in subject line and also
words in message body. I have saved and applied correctly and the rules
seemed to work for a while but now I notice messages coming through with the
"blocked" words - it would appear the rules are not working correctly.

I'd appreciate any help - the spam level is creeping up to 100 messages a
day presently and my penis is big enough and I do not need any of the drugs
on offer :-)

If you have rules to delete messages with certain words in message
body, this can only be done after the whole message has been
downloaded, i.e. after it has hit your Inbox. Consequently, rules that
are meant to delete messages on the server cannot work if you check for
words in the message body.
If you want advice on how to reduce/fight SPAM, you could visit the
Outlook Express newsgroup at
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress. You will find
tons and tons of related advice there. Do a search for "SPAM".
You would also most likely find similar advice on the Outlook newsgroup.

Another option - it worked for me - would be to switch to Netscape 7.1.
You will be able to import your favorites, contacts and messages. And
spam will be much easier to control!
