Thanks Dan E and Alan Beban (thanks for the email this morning, Alan). I
have tried on numerous occasions today to try to make MULTILOOKUP
work...but! I paste it into a general module in my workbook but can find no
reference to it in the function wizard. I therefore type it in directly but
when I press "enter" I receive the following, "Compile error: Expected: type
name". I'm now working within just one worksheet but it hasn't helped. I'm
working in Excel 97 on Windows 98; I've tried this on two PC's with the same
results. I'm stuck! Can either of you (or anyone else) help out this
VBA-challenged Excel user further??
Thanks
John

Hi Dan

I'm delighted to report it now works! The problem lay in the text wrapping.
The function now appears in the wizard; I've tested it and it works
perfectly, thanks very much.

Could you please take it one last step further? How can I get rid of #VALUE!
where there are no matches? I'd rather the cell were blank.

Thanks & kind regards
John

Thanks to John for asking my question for me. I'm at the
same point John was with the help from Alan and others and
I haven't had time to get back to it. Thanks again to
all, I KNOW I'll make time now for it. It was really
causing me heartaches.
