A newbie question:
How to relogon to server using a different account?
i.e. I logged on to server using USER1. Later I want to logon as USER2.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Ting,

I am assuming that you have already created a user account called USER2 on
the server.

If this is a DC, then you will have to give the "Log on locally" right to
the USER2 to
be able to logon to the DC.

1. Click Start, click Run, and then type "gpedit.msc" to start the Group
Policy Editor snap-in.

2. Double-click the Computer Configuration node, and then double-click the
Windows Settings node.

3. Double-click the Security Settings node, and then double-click the Local
Policies node.

4. Double-click "User Rights Assignment", right-click "Log on Locally", and
then click Add.

5. Select the user(s) or group(s) that you want to add, and then click OK.

6. Quit the Group Policy Editor snap-in.

Thank you very much for your advice.

I use W2K pro. There is a Server on the LAN.
I usually logon to my computer using Administrator.
So once I want to access resources on Server, I am
required to type a user/pwd (created on the server).
So I typed User1/User1Pwd, and can visit the Server.

Later I want to change to, say User2 in order to be access
to some files that the currently logging account User1
does not have access rights.

What should I do? Is there any way other than log off
locally and relogon and then access the server resources
using User2?
