I suppose what I am looking for specifically is a silent install
Run SETUP.EXE -R
This will create a SETUP.ISS in %Systemroot%
Copy the SETUP.ISS into the directory where SETUP.EXE exists.
The clients have to run SETUP.EXE -s -SMS
Take care: The strings are case sensitive

May I ask where you got this SETUP.EXE? I have tried using the latest
MouseWare installer from the Logitech website (on a Win98), without
success. Thanks for any tips,

The answer to my own question, in case anyone is wondering, is that
the .exe installer on Logitech's website can be opened with WinZip.

Just personally, I use my Logitech mouses (or mice) without ever using
their drivers... I have owned a few of them now and each one of them
gave troubles ONLY after using their own software.. I NEVER had an
ounce of trouble letting Windows (95, 98, 2000 and XP) run these
mice.....
OK, you have to settle for a bit less configuration than with the
Logitech drivers BUT at least the thing works all the time...

I noticed that the biggest area of concern was in games... Sometimes I
couldn't use the centre button/wheel to change weapons etc in many
games while using Logitech drivers. Sometimes the mouse wouldn't ever
be detected at all... Once I got rid of the drivers and let Windows
take over,, all was ok...
